Hardware Engineer (Boards)

Description and Responsibilities:

Peraso is actively seeking a Hardware (Boards) Engineer to support the development of their next generation mmWave wireless technology and Wireless Gigabit (WiGig) chipsets.

  • Reference designs for mm-wave radio transceivers and systems
  • Design evaluation boards, development motherboards and daughter cards
  • PCB schematic capture including embedded layout constraints
  • Library part creation and maintenance using OrCAD Capture CIS
  • Lead schematic reviews with analog, digital, RF, antenna designers
  • Work closely with PCB layout designers to ensure high quality design and short design cycles
  • SI analysis of critical nets
  • PDN analysis to ensure proper performance of analog/RF blocks
  • Thermal analysis of the full system
  • Manage PCB design schedules and interaction with PCB manufacture and assembly houses
  • Board evaluation and debug (FA)
  • Evaluation plan and documentation of evaluation results
  • RMA plan and support
  • NPI support
  • Product testing, evaluation and engineering documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s Degree Preferred)
  • Proven Schematic Design Experience (4+ years minimum) with tools such as ORCAD Capture CIS
  • Proven Experience with one or more SI/PDN tools such as Sigrity, ADS, or Ansys SI Wave
  • Familiarity with board specifications
  • Familiarity with Cadence Allegro tool and high-speed digital and analog layout techniques
  • Familiarity with evaluation techniques
  • Comfortable with design and software support
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and real-time oscilloscopes is beneficial
  • Soldering skills

  • This is a regular full-time role that may require some flexibility to work flexible hours throughout the week and provide coverage as required to meet business needs.
